Mark Thering grew up in El Paso and graduated from the University of Texas in 1985. Mr. Thering is has 3 children and 1 grandchild. Mr. Thering joined the United States Coast Guard and was awarded with numerous citations including Coast Guardsman of the year in 1989.
Mr. Thering has gained a lot of experience in the Criminal Justice System, he has Clerked for the Honorable Tad Halbach of the 333rd District Court (1998) and has worked as Court Liaison Officer for the 182nd District Court. Mark Thering also interned with the Harris County District Attorney's office in 1999.
Mr. Thering was also formerly a Certified Probation Officer for Harris County from 1990 to 1996. Before Mark interned with the District Attorney's office, he attended Texas Southern School of law from 1997 to 1999 and graduated #3 in his class, out of 235 students, with Magna Cum Laude recognition and Honors
